Tiger Woods has made an official announcement regarding his career of the golf course. He is not retiring, at least not yet, but he is working on quite a few projects at the moment. The golfer’s portfolio is very diverse, and he continues to add to it. Now, he’s adding another golf course design to the resume.

Woods has plenty of courses built that he designed, but this one is special for him. According to the player’s own announcement, this is the very first design he ever came up with. Some architects will have their first idea but then move on to others, which is what Woods did. Now, he gets the chance to revisit that first idea he had and turn it into a reality.

Woods shared a video announcing his new career update and wrote:

“Over a decade ago, I designed my first U.S. course at Bluejack National. I’m excited to announce that @tgrdesignbytw, @BluejackNation, and the Mitchell family are teaming up again to create @BluejackRanch, an exceptional new golf community in Aledo, Texas.”

Tiger Woods has slowly been building a lengthy off-course resume. It includes working with Justin Timberlake to design and create golf communities and forming TGL with Rory McIlroy.

Golf course development is far from a one-man job. Tiger Woods had the idea for a course, but he’s partnering with former PGA Tour player J.J. Henry and designer Andy Mitchell for its development.

Mitchell spoke with Woods and said via The Star-Telegram:

“He spent the day with us and, when he is designing a course, he really is in a zone. We are lucky in that this land really doesn’t need any help to be a golf course. It’s really a natural fit. Some places in DFW you have to move in dirt, or whatever, but here you don’t have to do anything.

The developer continued:

“He really enjoys it. He’s climbing around, and looking through trees and asking, ‘Are we going to do this?’ He has been a great partner.”

Mitchell said that he and Woods are about the same age and that he knows Woods has reached the point where he’s looking to expand his legacy in all areas. The development is currently 914 acres.
