Max Verstappen scored the pole position amidst multiple struggles for Red Bull in terms of pace.

Red Bull’s struggling pace has continued to cause problems for the team over race weekends. Milton Keynes came into the Austrian GP with great hopes in front of the home crowd. Hence, Max Verstappen defied all odds and continued to score the sprint win and the pole position at the Red Bull Ring. As a result, the 26-year-old showcased his pleasure with great results at the track.

Max Verstappen continued to score impressive results in the 2024 season amidst the struggles. The Dutchman scored the pole position in the sprint followed by a sprint victory. Hence, after the pole for the main race, the 26-year-old has a great chance for the Austrian GP. Verstappen mentioned that he was able to attack the corners more around the Red Bull Ring.

Apart from this, Verstappen noted that it had been a long time since the team last scored the pole position. Red Bull’s hard work for improving RB20’s performance had successfully facilitated the Dutchman to score great results. Subsequently, the reigning world champion claimed that scoring the pole position at Red Bull’s home race was a great statement.

Red Bull has to showcase their best efforts in front of their home crowd. The team implemented some in-season upgrades in hopes of improving performance over the race weekends. Hence, with the great qualifying results, the Dutchman highlighted that the team tried to adjust the car with the learnings from the practice session.

The qualifying went really well. We tried to adjust the car with what we learnt this morning.

Verstappen’s pole in Austria wasn’t under the most favorable conditions. The track temperatures were higher than expected and further caused uncertainty in the performance. The 26-year-old added that the warmer temperatures made the chassis harder to drive.

It was a lot warmer making the car harder to drive.

Milton Keynes will continue to improve in performance after facing multiple struggles in the season. The team hasn’t given up on their hopes of securing a dominant lead in the constructors’ championship. The competition could bunch up between the top teams towards the end of the 2024 season.
