Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, have recently found themselves in trouble over their marriage. On the eve of the PGA Championship, McIlroy announced that he had filed for divorce from his wife of seven years, taking the golf world by storm.
After days of rumors swirling around regarding them and their daughter’s future, the couple called off the divorce. In surprising news, Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll decided to give their relationship one more shot, with the announcement coming ahead of the 2024 U.S. Open.
Now, the couple have been spotted together at the Ryder Cup dinner. They were joined by fellow Irishman Shane Lowry as well as captain Luke Donald, LIV Golfer Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood and Nicolai Hojgaard. All of their partners accompanied them for the dinner too.

Rory McIlroy announced his divorce just days after winning the Wells Fargo Championship. The divorce was filed on Monday, May 13, and Rory McIlroy’s manager, Sean O’Flaherty, confirmed the same. According to an AP News statement, McIlroy’s manager said:
“Rory McIlroy’s communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed. They stressed Rory’s desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible.”
One month after filing their divorce, the couple had it voluntarily dismissed in a Florida High court. Addressing the media ahead of the 2024 U.S. Open, McIlroy said that the couple has sorted out their differences and will be looking to rekindle their relationship. He said to the Guardian:
“There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
The couple are now back together. After a heartbreaking loss at the 2024 U.S. Open, McIlroy will tee it up to defend his title at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open. Later in the season, he will also tee it up for the last major of the year, The 2024 Open Championship.
