Many would be content with a Presidents Cup victory. Many, we said, but not Kevin Kisner. Although the PGA Tour Pro hasn’t been having the best of years this season, he sure did help Jim Furyk bring home the prestigious title. But that doesn’t seem to have quenched the assistant captain’s thirst. Meaning: He still wants to compete on the men’s circuit to prove himself!
“What are you actually trying to accomplish in the next phase of your golf game?” asked the interviewer. A simple question, yes. But the answer? Truly inspiring, to be honest. “I’m really pissed off with the way the last two years went,” divulged Kisner. “So, I want to flip that script and show that to myself and nobody else and my kids. Like that ain’t how I’m going out!” Unfortunately enough, out of the 34 starts he made in the past couple of years, he missed the cut 21 times. More than half, the figures say!
Seems like the athlete feels it’s time to flip the situation. “I’m not going out shooting 75 and missing cuts every week,” said Kevin Kisner. “I’m putting enough work in that. All I need is just to get a little confidence in some tournaments.” The 40-year-old didn’t end his reply there.

He then recounted his T33 finish at the 3M Open in Minnesota before indicating how that was the first time in a year and a half that he felt like something was on the line while hitting a shot. “Hopefully that confidence comes back and all I want to do is prove to myself that that ain’t the way I’m going out,” said the pro as he rejected the idea of retiring while feeling dejected.
Kevin Kisner’s not going out with a whimper—he’s ready to roar back on the PGA Tour! Are you fired up?
Feeling inspired after listening to his words? Well, you’re not alone, a lot of fans and enthusiasts in the golfing community took to respond to Kisner’s reply under the Instagram post that Foreplaypod shared on their handle.

The PGA Tour Pro is all set to tee off at the 2024 Black Desert Championship that will kick off on October 10, Thursday. What’s more is Kisner also has plans to take part in at least four of the remaining five FedEx Cup Fall events, including the Shriners Children’s Open and the Zozo Championship, among others.
A couple of fans couldn’t help but express their support for the athlete as they commented, “LFG Kiz!” and “Love this.” Another enthusiast made sure to convey how much he liked the golfer’s plans to “prove himself,” despite the lackluster form. As a result, they typed out the response, “Not my guy, but a great response. Respect the grind.”
The golfer was one of the four assistant captains for the Jim Furyk-led squad for the American team. The skipper announced the likes of Brandt Snedeker, Stewart Cink, and Justin Leonard alongside Kisner as his assistants. The five veterans, along with the U.S. team lifted the trophy for the biennial tournament with the figures of 18.5-11.5, the latter being that of the international squad.

Why was he named as an assistant captain, you might wonder? Well, the golfer has raked in as many as four wins on the PGA Tour, the last of which came back in 2021 at the Wyndham Championship. Coming back to the recent confession, if he does clinch another win, then that would make it his fifth victory. A couple of followers, after listening to Kisner, decided to hype him up as well, as they commented, “Just wait, boys. It’s coming,” and “Cmon Kiz, bring one home for the boys.”
Have faith in him, and he might very well bring one home for the ‘boys’. Moreover, a win would also help him place inside the top 125 on the Fall standings, allowing him to keep the career money exemption for another year. Fingers crossed!
