The arrival of rookie sensations Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has brought the WNBA’s popularity to unprecedented heights. Both of these rising superstars have brought countless new fans to the sport.
In fact, at the midway point of the 2024 WNBA season, Clark and Reese lead the league in terms of jersey and merchandise sales.
Clark leads the way at No. 1, followed by Reese in the No. 2 spot.
Fanatics, the official retail partner of the WNBA, says it’s seen a 500% increase in business compared to the first half of the 2023 season. The company also cited a 1,000% increase in player-specific merchandise sales.
“Fan gear sales for the first half of the season are the highest in league history,” Fanatics said, via TMZ Sports.
New York Liberty superstar Sabrina Ionescu holds third place behind Clark and Reese. Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin and her MVP-frontrunner teammate A’ja Wilson are next on the list.
The 2024 WNBA season will resume after its month-long midseason break in mid August.
